In 1979, the Alpha Eta Sigma Chapter presented its first annual George Washington Carver Peanut Luncheon for Scholarship. Held annually, on the third Saturday in February, the Chapter's signature event highlights the research and inventions of scientist Dr. George Washington Carver and draws more than 300 attendees.

 

The proceeds from this event benefit the Sorors Addie M. Corbett and Pearl Howell Memorial Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are awarded annually and presented at the Alpha Eta Sigma Public Meeting in June each year.
